A Hunger Games Prequel Is Probably In The Works, & We Have Jennifer Lawrence’s Thoughts On It All

What exactly does J-Law make of it?

The final Hunger Games film has barely disappeared out of the cinema yet, but that hasn’t stopped some bigwig studio exec from teasing another movie.

That’s right, the original book-to-film adaptations may be finished, but according to production company Lionsgate, a spin-off (or 50) could very much be on the horizon soon.

Vice chairman Michael Burns couldn’t help but tease us with his latest comments at a recent appearance, as he revealed that the franchise could ‘live on and on’.

But what does that mean exactly? Well, prequels, of course.

Michael explained: “The one thing that kids say they missed [from the earlierHunger Gamesfilms] was there were no arenas.

“If we went backwards there obviously would be arenas.”

And plenty of them, considering the first movie sees Katniss competing in the 74th Hunger Games.

So while this is all ridiculously exciting, we can’t help but wonder exactly what Jennifer Lawrence would think about passing down her Mockingjay pin to a younger actress.

WELL, luckily for us, J-Law’s already told us what she makes of all the prequel ideas – and this is what she had to say…

First of all, she TOTALLY called it, and secondly, we think we like her idea even better.

And who does she think could take on her iconic role in the future reboot? Nobody, because she’d murder anyone who tries…

So there you have it.
