Wiz Khalifa Reveals Honour Of Writing Paul Walker Tribute 'See You Again'
With Furious 7 leaving viewers feeling far more emotional than usual when exiting the cinema, it's not surprising to hear that Wiz Khalifa was touched to honour the film with a song.
“To have the responsibility to do the Paul Walker record was really dope,” Wiz told MTV News on Saturday at the Palladium in Hollywood, California.
With 'See You Again' already no.1 in the Official Charts, Wiz reveals that he thought back to what the film'smessage is as well as what Paul Walker's character symbolised.
“I basically thought about what the movie stands for as far as family and the brotherhood, and of course, using the metaphor of the last ride and the last race because of that last scene,” Khalifa explained.
The video for the track, which also features Charlie Puth, includesthe last scene which ultimately says goodbye to Walker, who died in 2013.
Those who have been a fan of the franchise from the beginning will know that this wasn't the rappers first association, so being asked back was an honour.
“For them to come back and add me to the movie again, their idea was sort of to make me kind of a character in the movie,” he said. “To make me part of the family with them.”
