Star Wars' Daisy Ridley: "I Will Not Apologise For How I Look"
It’s hard to believe that anybody has anything but love for Daisy Ridley. Whether it’s as the strong female lead in 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' that we were all longing for or just as the awesome person she is otherwise, we love Daisy!
But unfortunately, there will always be haters. Boo.
This week, one such hater posted a picture their Instagram (since deleted) of her in The Force Awakens with a speech bubble saying, “I can’t believe the unrealistic expectations I’m setting for young girls. Who cast me anyway? Do they know real women have curves?”
Not one to take any s**t, Daisy responded saying “’Real women’ are all shapes and sizes, all ethnicities, all levels of brave, have families, don’t have families, I am a ‘real woman’ like every other woman in this world”. YAAAS.
The post has since been deleted (win), but Daisy wasn’t done, posting an awesome message on her own Instagram saying that she ‘will not apologise’ for how she looks and explaining that basically we should all just be kind to each other:
She explains that, “it’s much more hurtful to continue to slate other women than BE a woman, BE a character, BE whoever you want to be” and that “kindness isn’t going to cure the world of all it’s awfulness but it’s a good place to begin”.
PREACH DAISY, PREACH.
