Stereo Kicks Voted Off The X-Factor In Deadlock Drama

The boyband was pitted against Lauren Platt in the sing-off…

Stereo Kicks have left the X-Factor, after a split judges’ vote saw the decision go to deadlock.

The eight-piece boyband and Lauren Platt were left to fight for a place in next week’s semi-finals, after Andrea Faustini, Ben Haenow and Fleur East were taken through with the most votes.

Speaking before going head-to-head with Louis Walsh’s boyband, Lauren said: “I’m gutted to be going up against my best friends. But it’s got to be done.”

Cheryl’s mentee opted to sing her audition song, I Know Where I’ve Been first, while Stereo Kicks chose I Won’t Give Up for their performance.

Louis and Mel B chose to save the boyband, whilst Cheryl and Simon both decided to put Lauren through to next week’s show, with the decision ultimately going to deadlock.

After host Dermot O'Leary announced the band’s fate, Stereo Kicks emotionally thanked fans for their support throughout the competition and promised that they would stay together.

X-Factor alumni Ella Henderson and Union J took to the stage as this week’s musical guests, while American Idol star Adam Lambert and Queen opened the show.

American girl group Fifth Harmony and last year’schamp Sam Bailey have been announced as next week’s performances, along with Frozen’s Idina Menzeland a mystery special guest.
