This year's BRIT Awards trophy, which has been designed by Tracey Emin, has been revealed.

Emin has become the fifth British artist to apply her unique creative vision to the iconic BRITs statue, which features the words: "Congratulations on your talent,your life,on everything you give to others,thank you."

[related]Speaking of designing the gong, she stated: "You want to do it really well. You don’t just want to decorate it, you want to make something that is really Tracey-ish, that is special for the people receiving it.”

BRITs Chairman Max Lousada added:“Tracey’s design is characteristically bold, brilliant, colourful and inventive - everything the BRITs stands for.

"We’re honoured to work with her and delighted to be able to celebrate the achievements of the BRIT Awards winners with such a unique and special trophy."

The likes ofDame Vivienne Westwood, Damien Hirst andPhilip Treacy have all previously designed a trophy.
