Jessica Alba, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Mickey Rourke are featured in the first still images from Sin City: A Dame To Kill For.

Set for release this summer, the heavily stylised movie is the follow-up to Robert Rodriguez' 2005 adaptation of Frank Miller's popular graphic novel.

Co-directed by Miller, the movie follows the misadventures of a collection of hard-boiled characters, played by an impressive ensemble cast.

Alba plays exotic dancer Nancy Callahan again in the sequel, with Rourke playing bruiser Marv and Gordon-Levitt playing a new character called Johnny.

The sequel will pick up several of the plot threads from its predecessor - and will also introduce two freshly created storylines.

Bruce Willis and Eva Green are also both confirmed to appear in the sequel.
