Imagine getting friend zoned online, in front of everyone and for the whole world to see. Okay, you get it. Well The Only Way Is Essex star Pete Wicks had to suffer through exactly that recently as Love Island’s Ellie Brown shot down claims the pair were seen ‘snogging’.

Taking to Twitter, the Islander took on those brave enough to make assumptions based on a picture which shows the pair getting up close and personal at ITV’s Palooza Party, and it’s hilarious.

“Didn’t realise giving someone you know a cuddle and a kiss on the cheek (like I do majority of people) when you see them is ‘passionately kissing’ LOL,” adding the sick face emoji at the end. Savage.

But Ellie’s not the only one who finds the whole sitch funny, as Pete tweeted back: “Oh for f**ks sake,” with Zara McDermott trolling the pair by congratulating them on their fake romance.

And it looks as though Zara isn’t the only one who thinks Ellie and Pete would make a cute couple, as fans starting tweeting at the Islander over how they wouldn’t be mad if the rumours were true.

Unfortunately for us all though, these two seem to be staying in the friend zone. At least for now anyway.
