Gigi Hadid Calls Out Body Shamers As She Explains Health Issues: “You Never Know The Whole Story”

Although it's Chrissy Teigen's response which perfectly sums the trolls up.

Gig Hadid has taken to Twitter to, once again, explain why she is the weight that she is and how it’s not exactly where she wants to be right now.

The 22-year-old model wrote in a series of passionate tweets that her fluctuating weight is due to her diagnosis of Hashimoto’s disease, and that she’s beyond done with people judging without knowing the fully story.

The condition is an autoimmune disease that causes you to have an underactive thyroid, causing every function of your body, including heat retention and the rate your body turns food into energy, to slow down.

So in order to shed some light to her 8.5million followers, Gigi explained: “For those of you so determined to come up w why my body has changed over the years, you may not know that when I started @ 17 I was not yet diagnosed w/Hashimoto’s disease; those of u who called me “too big for the industry” were seeing inflammation & water retention due to that.

“Over the last few years I’ve been properly medicated to help symptoms including those, as well as extreme fatigue, metabolism issues, body’s ability to retain heat, etc ... I was also part of a holistic medical trial that helped my thyroid levels balance out.”

And while her job of choice means a lot of travel and unhealthy hours, she’s made sure her diet isn’t neglected.

“Although stress & excessive travel can also affect the body, I have always eaten the same, my body just handles it differently now that my health is better. I may be “too skinny” for u, honestly this skinny isn’t what I want to be, but I feel healthier internally and (cont) still learning and growing with my body everyday, as everyone is.”

Gigi reminds everyone that you shouldn’t judge someone’s body type just because it’s not the ‘beauty ideal’, and that it’s important as social media users to lift each other and drag people down.

Or as Chrissy Teigen so perfectly put it: “alternate tweet: “fuck off””

Yep, still our fave human.
