This Chocolate Bar Supposedly Helps Relieve Period Pain

Don't mess with us.

It's not exactly news that chocolate is the holy grail of remedies to help make your period just that bit more bearable, but it turns out there's now a special bar of chocolatey goodness that could do so much more.

You see Marc Widmer from Chocolate With Love claims that he's made a sweet treat which could actually help relieve period pain. Like, properly.

According to The Independent, the bar, which contains 60% cocoa solids and 17 Swiss mountain herbs, can help ease those annoying cramps due to the serotonin found in cocoa, which is already known to have a calming effect on the body.

Widmer described his new product as "reassuring, harmonising, and at the same time very delicious," and that "of course men can also eat the chocolate."

But it's not exactly likely to be found on offer in Tesco for £1 anytime soon, what with it costing around £10 per 100 grams.

This comes after it was discovered that the reason women crave sweet treats before their period is due to the dip in serotonin levels, as their bodies hanker for food which contains the chemical (e.g. chocolate, pasta etc.)

So if you're feeling a bit low and you're about to come on, make yourself a nice bowl of chocolatey pasta.
