Is Kanye West Launching 'Yeezy Sound' Streaming Service?
Kanye West is planning to go up against the streaming giants.
The rap legend has filed a trademark for 'Yeezy Sound' for a new music and video streaming service, meaning he will compete with Jay Z's TIDAL that he famously helped to launch.
He's conquered music and fashionwhile his in-laws practically runsocial media and television, so this is simplythe next piece of the Kardashian-West puzzle.
The Blast uncovered the trademark - filed this month by Kanye's reps - that covers services including the "streaming of music, audio, images, video and other multimedia content over the internet.”
The launch of 'Yeezy Sound' wouldn't just see the'Life of Pablo'rappercompete with Spotify and Apple Music but the very streaming service that caused a rift between him and Jay-Z.
Kanye was one of many artists to help launch TIDAL in 2014 as a co-owner and shareholder but his relationship with his 'Watch The Throne'partnerwent awry when he claimed he was owed over $3 million in royalties, advances and bonuses for his'Pablo'album.
It's unknown when 'Yeezy Sound' is set to launch, however we expect it would be simultaneous with Kanye's next album, which is rumoured to drop in the first half of 2018.
After almost one year off, West performed for the first time since last November as hereturned to the stage at Kid Cudi's concert in Chicago this past weekend and featuresonCyHi the Prynce's new single 'Dat Side'.
