Normani Kordei is coming to snatch our wigs straight off our scalp any day now.

Translation: she’s coming for blood with her solo material, which is about to drop... any day now.

The Fifth Harmony star’s solo career has started phenomenally as she already has a number one song at US pop radio under her belt - not an easy feat - for ‘Love Lies’, her collaboration with Khalid.

Her first proper solo turn is expected to arrive imminently, with the singer revealing to Billboard that she is dropping a few songs before the album campaign officially begins.

“Some records [are] coming out very soon,” she said, while stating that those songs “aren’t necessarily part of my personal project, my album.”

Releasing buzz singles is a common way for artists to tease a fuller project without giving away any of the goods, using them to signal their sonic direction to build hype for the real thing.

One of these songs is a “really huge” collaboration with a male artist that Normani describes as one of the “greatest vocalists of this time right now.”

While rumours regarding a collaboration with Calvin Harris have circulated, her use of ‘vocalist’ may rule him out this time round as he usually sticks to producing.

Besides this mysterious collab, we do already know that Normani is working with the one and only Missy Elliott on her new album, which will undoubtedly be a'moment'.
