This Fan Theory That Stranger Things And It Are Connected Is Way Too Freaky To Deal With

Bob has a lot to answer for.

Just when you thought It and Strangers Things couldn’t get any creepier, along comes a fan theory connecting the two to scare the living daylights out of you.

Now that season two of Stranger Things has landed, there are plenty of fan theories doing the rounds. But this one connecting the Upside Down to Pennywise the Clown is guaranteed to send a shiver up your spine.

'Watch the Stranger Things kids play the whisper challenge below...'

You see, fan account @UpsideDownFacts has got people wondering if Pennywise actually originated as a resident of Hawkins, Indiana, thanks mainly to a scene in which Bob tells Will a story about a recurring nightmare about a clown that he had as a child.

Bob explains that only by confronting the clown was he able to end the nightmare, which sounds a little familiar, no?

He even says that in his dream the clown offered him a balloon, which we all know is the calling card of Pennywise, the horror clown from the famous Stephen King novels that’s just been remade as a movie.

If you do the maths, you can also work out that Bob is about the right age to have had this nightmare in the 1950s, which is coincidentally when It is set.

While there’s no confirmation that Pennywise and the Demogorgon *do* originate in the same alternate universe, it’s a pretty freaky coincidence, no?
