5 HUGE Video Games Coming Out In Early 2019
Every year we think we've seen the biggest year in gaming, and every year, we're proved wrong! Despite a bumper crop in 2018 - Red Dead Redemption 2, Battlefield 5, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, and Far Cry 5 to name but five! - we don't think 2019 isn't going to be any different. What's that? You don't believe us? Well, check out this list of what's coming up in 2019 and prepare to eat your words…
Here's five outstanding games we think are going to blow your mind in 2019, and best of all, ALL (well, almost all!) will be out before the Easter Bunny is!
1. Resident Evil 2 Remake (January 2019)
Hard to believe just how far the Resident Evil franchise has come in the 22 - yes, really! - years it's been around, and we still think 2017's Resident Evil 7 is one of the series' most terrifying offerings yet. But early next year, we'll get the remake we've ALL been waiting for: Resident Evil 2. And as terrifying as our last visit to the Racoon City Police Department was, we cannot wait to hang out with Leon Kennedy and one of gaming's most kickass ladies, Claire Redfield, again… not least as this time around we'll get to experience this new and improved zombie horror with a modern control scheme and horrifying HD graphics.
2. Kingdom Hearts 3 (January 2019)
If you've never jumped into a Kingdom Hearts game before, this might just be the perfect time for you! Yes, the series is a little complicated and yes, you might have to do a little homework before you get involved, but everything we've seen about Kingdom Hearts 3 so far has blown our minds, and we still can't quite get used to the magic of seeing our favourite Disney Pixar characters buddying up with our fave Final Fantasy pals. So far, we know Donald, Goofy, and Sora are back, and we know we'll see guest stars from some of Disney's most treasured movies, including Frozen, Tangled, Toy Story, and Pirates of the Caribbean. Can you tell we're excited?!
3. Anthem (February 2019)
While many of us had hoped to get going in BioWare's incredibly ambitious sci-fi shooter before the end of 2018, sadly it was pushed back until 2019. We don't have too long to wait into the new year, though; BioWare's huge, open-world shooter - thought to play a little like Bungie's Destiny, but with BioWare's unrivalled RPG elements and stories - will be out in February. Wearing javelin exosuits, the players - called Freelancers - can work collaboratively or competitively to take down enemy threats. We cannot wait!
4. The Division 2 (March 2019)
If you spent even a little time in Ubisoft's post-apocalyptic take on New York City, you'll know as well as we do just how incredible The Division was. Yes, the launch was a little unstable and yes, there were a few grizzles about a lack of in-game content, but this time we shouldn't run out of things to do. Taking place in Washington DC, The Division 2 plans to build on everything that made the original game so enjoyable, promising a packed and polished experience from the off. So there's just one thing we want to know: who is teaming up with us in The Dark Zone, eh?
5. Cyberpunk 2077 (TBA)
We're being cheeky here because really, we're not really sure when Cyberpunk 2077 drops… but we really, really hope it'll be sometime in 2019. From the people behind The Witcher, and based upon a pen-and-paper RPG and set in a huge neon city, Night City, fans really hope that Cyberpunk 2077 takes The Witcher's incredible storytelling and characterisation into this fantastic new setting. Developer CD Projekt remains pretty tight-lipped about the game and there's still a lot of mystery surrounding it, but if it's anywhere near CD Projekt's ambitious plans, we think this is going to be one of THE games of 2019… if it releases in time, of course!
