Lee: “Bring On the Steps Comeback!”
Sacked Upper Street member Lee Latchford-Evans has hinted that his pre-boyband band Steps might make a comeback, in a frank mtv.co.uk webchat this evening.
Speaking to webchat host Jo Good, The Latch let rip at Dane, Danny, Bradley and Jimmy, aka Upper Street, who collectively ousted him from the Totally Boyband band for not pulling his weight and allegedly being a bit of an arse.
Lee described the band, their manager Jonathan Shalit and label exec Roseanne two faced and (half) joked that hed crack open a bottle of champagne if their single The One - released on October 23 - is a flop.
He also said that former New Kid Danny is the weakest singer in Upper Street, describing him as "more like some backstage guy than a member of a band!"
But on a more positive note, Latchford-Evans exclusively revealed that following comebacks from the likes of All Saints and 5ive, a Steps reunion may be on the cards.
You shouldnt rule out a Steps comeback, said Lee, currently working on his band The Latch. I know Four, I mean 5ive, are doing it, and we were the biggest pop act in the UK at the time, so why not.
Im not sure about a new career and new albums, but as for a tour or whatever, why not? I dont think any of us would rule it out but itd have to be right time. Id love to do some of it as Steps was then and some of it as Steps moving on. Like an acoustic version of Steps or whatever.
Tragedy unplugged. Bring it on.
