VMAs 2004 – The Winners
Jay-Z and OutKast have emerged as the big winners at the 2004 MTV Video Music Awards in Miami.
Jay-Z, who carried the most nominations this year with six nods for his 99 Problems video, went home with four gongs. The rap star took Best Rap Video, Best Direction, Best Editing and Best Cinematography. While collecting his awards, Jay wore a nice straw hat and said thanks to Beyonce.
Outkast, who performed a medley at the ceremony, also came away with four awards. The dynamic duo took Best Hip-Hop Video, Best Special Effects, Best Art Direction and the coveted Video Of The Year. They wore suits.
No Doubt went home with two gongs, claiming Best Pop Video and Best Group Video as did Usher who bagged Best Male and Best Dance.
Other winners included Beyonce who won Best Female Video, Maroon 5 (Best New Artist In A Video), Jet (Best Rock Video), Black Eyed Peas (Best Choreography), Alicia Keys (Best R&B), Linkin Park (Viewers Choice Award) and Franz Ferdinand, who flew the flag for the UK, winning Best Breakthrough Video for Take Me Out.
