1. For those who don’tknowabout you and your music, tell us a little bit about who you are and where you’re from…
So for those who don't know about me, my name is Bru-C, I am fromNottingham City, I make drum andbass music that represents life in the UK, life on the streets in the UK anda ravers perspective.
2. Who/what inspired you to start a career in music?
I'd probably say my family inspired me to get into music, my mum used to play a lot of Lauryn Hill andAl Green and a lot of MoTown, just a lot of R&B stuff in general when I was reallyyoung. Then I got to my early teens. I got into grime and garage through pay as you go and Heartless- my sister used to bring the tape cassetteshome and that.
3. Who are your biggest musical influences?
Biggest musical influences have to be - Lauryn Hill just because her music has always been so powerful and has always stood for something in her music which I really respect. As well as Skepta, for everything that he has done for the UK rap scene as a whole.
4. Tell us about the writing and recording process of your new release…
The writing process just comes to me to be honest, there isn't really a process, it just kind of comes to me. We're just chilling, we catch a vibe, we write the song, get it recorded, it doesn't take long normally a couple hours in the studio - pretty smooth process to be honest.
5. What has been your biggest career highlight so far?
My career highlight for me at the moment, I'd probably say the Europe tour that I am on right now, the whole tour is sold out. Travelling to so many different places in the world and receivingso much love is just incredible.
6. Who would you be your dream collaboration and why?
I wouldn't really say that I've got a dream collaboration to be honest with you, I like to just work with people who like to make music and make good music - there is definitely some collaborations I have in mind, but I wouldn't say there is just one person, I am always open to work with new people.
7. Have you met anyone and been totally starstruck?
No not really, however I would be starstruck by Tommy Shelby (Cillian Murphy), whoever plays him. He is an absolute don! If I saw Tommy Shelby I'd go absolutely nuts, but to be honest I don't really get starstruck by people, like obviously it's brilliant to meet people who have done crazy things and if I watched them for years, but I don't really get gassed like that.
8. If you could only listen to one song on repeat for the rest of time what would it be and why?
One song on repeat for the rest of time, that is a very tough question.. I am going to say Lauryn Hill, Everything Is Everything.
9. What’s on your playlists that people wouldn’t expect?
Some wouldn't expect this to be in my playlist is - The Temper Trap - Sweet Disposition, football banger you know one of them.
10.What can we expect from your live shows?
My live shows, expect absolute madness, carnage - wholesome moments and a lot of sweat.
11. When can we see you live this year?
You can see me live everywhere this year, just find me!
