Janet Jackson has talked about the effect that online piracy has had on her single 'Just A Little While'.
The track, which was released in the UK several weeks ago, appeared online some time before it was due on the shelves, as Ms Jackson told MTV News. "I was actually at rehearsals for the Superbowl, when we still had two weeks of writing, producing and mixing on the album," said Janet, "and a friend paged me and said I heard your new single. I said, Well, whats the name of it? She said, Just A While, In A While, something like that."
"She told me shes gotten it off the Net and gave me the address " and 78 stations across the US were playing the song! We stopped that then found out the next morning that all of Europe had it. So we were like, theres not much we can do at this point."
"But it really does affect artists and hurts the initial launch of a project," added the superstar vocalist. "
Its like theres a monkey wrench in your whole game plan."
