Thomas Headon: “If You Vote For Me, I Will Be A Step Closer To Meeting Harry Styles”
21-year-old Thomas Headon is the latest of our MTV PUSH UK & IRE 2022 artists in the spotlight this week and in our exclusive interview he tried to nail-down his sound:“If someone hadn’t heard my music before, I would probably describe it was left of pop, also left of, like, indie rock, but also left of alternative. I dunno. It’s quite left, but still pop.”
When we asked how Thomas got into music, he revealed: “I first got into music when I wasfourteen, started writing songs and playing guitar at that age, I think first to get girlsbut then I started putting covers on YouTube and then through coversI gained a small following, then moved to London and then started doing stuff onTikTok, and then started going really well. And then I finally released my first track in, like, 2019 andnow here we are. I’m just winging it, but it’s going well.”

We asked Thomas about his career highlights, and beamed: “Wow. My career highlight so far, MTV PUSH 2022, this has been great. Thank you. Um, no, my career highlights so far,I played a tour all around the UK. That was crazy. It was 17 shows, so many people. That’s probably been the best one.”
On what the new year will bring, Thomas revealed: “This year’s big. I’ve got a lot planned. I’m releasing my EP in March, called 'Victoria' EP, which is exciting. I’m going on tour, with Sigrid as well, all around Europe and the UK, which is gonna be great. I’m also playing shows in the UK, the US and Australia, all around everywhere, a bunch of festivals. I’m really excited. Just more music, more shows, ramping up.”
Why should you vote for Thomas? “I think if you vote for me and I win this, then I will be a step closer to meeting Harry Styles, and that is – you know, what more could I want?”
