Charlize Theron is reported to be in final talks over a starring role in Seth MacFarlane's follow-up to Ted.
The 37-year-old star is claimed by The Hollywood Reporter to be ready to sign-up to appear opposite MacFarlane himself in A Million Ways To Die - which is described as a comedy western in the mould of Blazing Saddles.
MacFarlane is also writing and directing the film, which tells the story of a mild-mannered farmer whose wife leaves him after he chickens out of a gunfight.
THR says: "When he meets the wife of a notorious outlaw who offers to teach him how to shoot, the farmer at first sees a chance to win back his love but slowly falls for the woman. Complications ensue when the outlaw returns and reclaims his woman."
Production is set to begin in May - although MacFarlane [uuid=504f9832-2473-4036-9274-20080f85063a]has the small issue[/uuid] of hosting this year's Oscars first.
