They're hardly the most likely of musical bedfellows, but it looks like Justin Bieber and super-producer Rick Rubin could be working together.

Biebs took to social media earlier today (14 January) to share a selfie in which he was posing with Rubin.

He captioned it simply: "With the man Rick."

Rubin's lengthy career has seen him produce hits for acts as diverse as Beastie Boys, Run-D.M.C, AC/DC, Metallica, Kanye West, Red Hot Chili Peppers and country legend Johnny Cash.

In recent years he has begun to work with pop acts including Ed Sheeran, Adele and Lady Gaga.

Biebs has already promised fans a new album this year.
