TroyeSivan may have wowed us with amazing new music back in January - 'My My My!' and 'The Good Side' are two of our favourite singles of the year so far - but the 'Blue Neighbourhood' superstar has been a little bit quiet as of late. That is until now.

Last night the Australian hitmaker released 'Bloom' the next track from his upcoming second album and it's amazing.

The 'Wild' singer began teasing 'Bloom' in interviews earlier this year and it's safe to say that it doesn't disappoint. Stunning, percussiveverses build into a glorious, euphoric chorus that's worthy of pop's best. It's intricate and effortless at the same time.

Not only that but the single's somehow both a universal love song and an allegory for queer sex. Chatting to Popjustice, Troye revealed: "Lyrically I think it’s the most subversively queer song on the album.That’s kind of what makes me like it so much".

What's most magical about it is that it builds. Just when you think the chorus is complete it bursts into another gorgeous hook. It's early days but the 'play me like a love song, every time it comes on' refrain is one of the standout pop moments of 2018.

Troye co-wrote 'Bloom' with his close friend, collaborator and fellow popstar Leland ('Fetish', 'My My My!').

Not to mention, it was produced by Top 40 king Peter Svensson ('Can't Feel My Face', 'Love Me Harder').

Fingers crossed that this means thatTroye'ssophomore album is coming out soon.

If it's anywhere near as good as 'Bloom' is, it will be one of the records of the year.
