Demi Lovato is reportedly awake and surrounded by her family after being rushed to hospital in Los Angeles following a suspected drug overdose.

Police were called to the singer’s Hollywood residence at just before midday on Tuesday, with TMZ claiming that she was found unconscious after overdosing on heroin.

A representative for Demi has since cautioned people about jumping to conclusions surrounding her health while thanking fans for their messages of love and support.

“Demi is awake and with her family who want to express thanks to everyone for the love, prayers, and support,” the statement read.

"Some of the information being reported is incorrect and they respectfully ask for privacy and not speculation as her health and recovery is the most important thing right now.”

An LAPD spokesperson previously confirmed some details surrounding the hospitalization. At the time, they said that a 25-year-old woman was in the process of being taken to hospital and that she was in a stable condition.

Fans and celebrity friends alike have since taken to their social-media profiles in support of Demi, with Ariana Grande, Joe Jonas, Lili Reinhart and more sending her their best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Demi has been candid about her experience of cocaine and alcohol abuse in the past, having recently revealed in the lyrics to ‘Sober’ that she had relapsed after six years of sobriety.
