Seth Meyers To Host Emmy Awards 2014

Chat show host taking the reins for this year's US television gong show...

Comedian and chat show host Seth Meyers will be master of ceremonies at the 65th annual Emmy Awards this year.

The Saturday Night Live veteran - now host of Late Night on NBC - will be picking up compere duties from the popular Neil Patrick Harris, who ran the show last year.

NBC's entertainment president Paul Telegdy said: "Seth's expertise and ease in front of a live audience during his time at SNL, as well as his comedic brilliance both as a writer and in front of the camera on SNL and Late Night, makes him the perfect choice to host the Emmys."

And Television Academy chairman and CEO Bruce Rosenblum added: "Seth is such a talented performer and writer, and we know he will bring something unique to hosting the Primetime Emmy Awards."

It was also revealed that Don Mischer will work as executive producer when the Emmys are broadcast on 25 August.
