FormerWeezer bassist Mikey Welsh has been found dead at the age of 40…two weeks after predicting his own death on Twitter.
Welsh, who quit Weezer back in 2001, was discovered dead at a hotel room in Chicago yesterday and is thought to have passed away from a suspected drug overdose.
The father-of-two chillingly wrote details of a dream he had about his death on 26th September, predicting the exact location and time of his passing on the mirco-blogging site.
He tweeted: "dreamt i died in chicago next weekend (heart attack in my sleep). need to write my will today", before adding: "correction - the weekend after next."
As well as making the accurate prediction, Welsh - who became an artist after quitting Weezer - also wrote about a particular piece of his work on Facebook, stating: "If i am still alive at time of purchase, price to increase exponentially if i expire prematurely."
Weezer reacted to the news of his death on Twitter, posting: "We are shocked and deeply saddened to hear the awful news, our friend and fellow weez rocker @mikeywelsh71 has passed away. We love u Mikey."
There is currently no official word on the cause of Welsh's death, with the Daily Mail reporting that police suspect the involvement of narcotics.
