This year's MTV Video Music Awards are set to be a truly memorable night. Why, you ask? Well because the host is actual Miley Cyrus!

Oh yes, the Wrecking Ball singer took to her Instagram earlier today (July 21) to announce the ridiculously exciting news, of course wearing a green alien onesie along with a sandwich board that reads: “MTV WON’T LET ME PERFORM” on one side and “SO I’M HOSTING THIS YEAR’S VMA’S” on the other.

Of course MiCy is known for her infamous 2013 VMAs performance, where she twerked with Robin Thicke for all to see. N'aww.

And then there was last year, where she kindly gave her acceptance speech time up to her homeless dateJesse Helt, allowing him to talk about the growing number of homeless youths in LA.

So let's start placing bets as to what crazy antics she might get up to this timearound, we're thinking ALL THE FOAM FINGERS.

As for who will be up for an award on the night, the nominations are set to be announced later today (July 21) on Beats 1 radioat 3pm GMT, so watch this space!
