Which exactly why we’ve put together a handy fact file of who exactly everyone is, so that you can chat about it with your mates without a 'whathisface' in sight.

And don’t worry, this is a spoiler free zone!

Hannah Baker

Hannah is your main character and we imagine you have no trouble remembering who she is, you know, because the show is based on her tapes. And despite her having taken her own life,each episode isfull of flashbacks illustrating her points.

Clay Jensen

Clay worked with Hannah at the local cinema and had a huge soft spot for her, maybe even a crush too. Personal obsession factor: 10/10

Meet jock no.1 who turns Hannah's life upside down after getting to know her at a house party. Why are jocks so often bad news?

Alex Standall

Alex and Hannah were friends thanks to them both being new in town at a similar time. Only he's quite easily pursuaded when it comes to the 'popular kids'...

Tyler is the school photographer, and not exactly the most liked person ever thanks to the tapes. But also because dark rooms are creepy af.

Jessica Davis

Jessica, Hannah and Alex couldn't have been closer at one point in their lives, they were basically the three muskateers of the school. But of course, things didn't stay that way.

Mr. Porter

He's the guidance counsellor who starts his very own investigation into what happened to Hannah.

Tony

Tony is good friends with Clay and somewhat of a guardian angel to him. He also has incredible biceps and looks about 30-years-old.

Marcus Cole

Marcus is incredibly stubborn and you might just have a bit of rage towards him, he's that irritiating.

Courtney Crimson

Courtney is essentially the school prefect, and although her and Hannah are the best of friends at one point this soon changes.

Bryce Walker

This guy is the worst of them all, taking on the role of bothchief jock andchief idiot.

Zach Dempsey

Another jock, only this time you might not hate him 'straight' away.
