Following our one-off London special last year, the legendary 'YO! MTV Raps' returns for a full series on Tuesday 25th September at 11pm on MTV, hosted by Poet and Snoochie Shy.

The five-part series will be a destination for current and new fans to discover the best in rap music and hip hop culture, featuring a stellar guest line up including Chip, Flohio, Michael Dapaah, Octavian, RAY BLK, Stefflon Don, Yxng Bane and more!

Following the legacy of the original 'YO! MTV Raps', the series will be hosted by dynamic duo Snoochie Shy and Poet. With an impressive roster of music presenting skills behind her, Snoochie Shy is also a well-respected DJ with a deep passion for hip hop. Poet is an equally esteemed name within the industry. His experience in sports, music, and social activism allows him to bring an energy and passion along with his trademark sense of humour, never failing to spark honest “real talk” around difficult issues.

Snoochie Shy says: “I’m really gassed to be able to host 'YO!' This was such an iconic show from back in the day but to be able to do it our way and shine light on our culture is just too sick, it’s something I’ve always dreamt about doing and I’m super happy to be involved!”

Poet adds: “My older sister has gone from sending me to bed when the original 'YO! MTV Raps' came on to laying in bed watching me when 'YO! MTV Raps' comes on!”

On being part of the brand new series of'YO!'Stefflon Don says: “I’m so happy to be a part of'YO! MTV Raps!'MTV has always been about showcasing new talent within the hip-hop scene, and to be asked by MTV to perform for the very first series of 'YO!' is amazing!”

After its debut 30 years ago 'YO! MTV Raps' became the place to go for all things hip hop. The arrival of the series was crucial to the rise of rap music, and created a global passion for the genre and greater hip hop culture, which has since become the most dominant force in mainstream music and pop culture worldwide.
