Finn Balor Video Exclusive: NXT Superstar On Meeting WWE Boss Vince McMahon For The First Time
NXT superstar Finn Balor has revealed he was forced to cut short his introduction to Vince McMahon… because he was due in the ring.
The Irish ace met legendary promoter Vince for the first time at NXT’s San Jose live eventduring Wrestlemania week, but has managed to laugh off the fact he was unable to chew the fat more with the WWE boss.
Finn - who takes on Tyler Breeze at NXT TakeOver: Unstoppable tonight to determine the number one contender to Kevin Owens’ title - told MTV: “Believe or not, I did have one moment of interaction with the boss.
“Neville had just gone to the ring, I was behind the curtain waiting to make my trademark entrance and I heard: ‘Finn, Finn!’
“I turned around and it was Triple H. He said: ‘Come here, come here.’ So I ran over and he said have you met Vince yet? I said: ‘No, sir.’
“And as I said that, out from behind the curtain popped Mr McMahon. He said: ‘How’re you doing, kid? Nice to meet you.’
“I said: ‘Nice to meet you, sir.’ And on that cue my music started and I said: ‘Oh! I’ve gotta go!’
“Sure enough, I went to the ring and the rest is history!”
The 33-year-old also told how NXT’s stars were “riding the high from two nights previous” at the big show in Santa Clara, California and he caught up with former New Japan Pro Wrestling colleagues and NWO icon Scott Hall during Wrestlemania week.
