Troye Sivan Reveals Powerful ‘HEAVEN’ Music Video Celebrating LGBTQ+ History

An important queer memorial ahead of the inauguration of Donald Trump...

Troye Sivan has released his music video for ‘HEAVEN’, a track from his critically acclaimed debut album 'Blue Neighbourhood', on the evening before Donald Trump’s inauguration.

The stunning visuals are as emotional as they are beautiful as we see Troye brooding in the rain while embracing a male love.

These scenes are interchanged with black and white footage of LGBTQ+ activists from across the years with people such as Harvey Milk and events like marriage equality rallies and pride parades featuring in the music video.

Accompanying the powerful video, Troye posted an equally powerful caption on the YouTube video, he wrote: “we have always been here. we will always be here. this video is dedicated to all who’ve come before me and fought for our cause and those who now continue the fight. in dark and light times, let’s love forever. love, troye x”

By dropping the video on the eve of Donald Trump’s inauguration, Troye is continuing to be a real player in LGBTQ+ activism, showing that no matter what happens in the world, we will still ‘continue the fight’.

According to a representative, Troye was originally going to release the video today, Friday 20th January, to coincide with Donald Trump's inauguration. However, he brought it forward a day due to an overwhelming response from fans to teasers for the clip.
