2006 - They meet for the first time…

During the Hills’ first season Spencer decided he wanted to be on the show. He asked producer Sean Travis, who he had worked with on cancelled-reality show Princes of Malibu but he was told a firm no. So he and Brody Jenner trolled the clubs to meet the cast. One night at nightclub Privilege, Kristin Cavallari and Brody introduced him to Heidi.

2007 - Heidi's friendship with Lauren ends and she moves out…

After many, many fights about Heidi spending all her time with Spencer, she moved out of the apartment she shared with BFF Lauren Conrad and into a condo with him.

2007 - The pair spread a sex tape rumour about Lauren…

For years the pair denied all knowledge of how the rumour about Lauren Conrad’s sex tape surfaced. But they eventuallyadmittedthat they had been the one to start it. If nothing else it created one of the most memorable scene from The Hills. YOU KNOW WHAT YOU DID.

2007 - He proposes on the beach…

On a weekend trip to Santa Barbara, Spencer got down on one knee and proposed to Heidi on the beach. They have since said that it was edited that way and it was actually just a promise ring.

2008 - They elope to Mexico…

The elopement we all saw on the Hills was actually fake. The couples had kept it a secret from MTV and struck a deal with US Weekly to catch their vacation on camera. The Hills had to re-do the scenes to keep the viewers in the loop. But they did legit get married.

2008 - They almost get married in a court…

To make it legal in the US they went to a courthouse to tie the knot. But they backed out when Spencer realised Heidi wanted a big wedding with her family and friends.

2009 - Spencer proposes again...

This time he does it on a ferris wheel in Santa Monica with ANOTHER ring. Does she have two then?!

2009 - They have a big white wedding…

We all remember Lauren Conrad’s sudden appearance at the wedding to wish Heidi well. And the entrance of Kristin Cavellari.

2009 - Heidi has a lot of surgery…

The world was in shockwhen Heidi underwent 10 plastic surgeries on one day including a chin reduction, boob jobs, ears pinned back, liposuction and more.

2010 - Spencer is obsessed with crystals…

Spencer’s behaviour became erratic on The Hills as the cast members struggled to be around him. The pair have since admitted they were going through a hard time but still to this day are obsessed with crystals. “You wanna hold something powerful?”

2010 - The Hills is over…

Four episodes into season six marked the couples final appearance. Spencer was kicked off the show after he threatened to kill a producer. He was originally supposed to return after anger management therapy but his behaviour worsened. Heidi then filed and the dropped sexual harassment charged against the creator Adam DiVello.

2010 – Heidifiles for divorce…

Two months after filing for divorce they admitted it was purely for financial and publicity reasons. He told Life & Style: “The divorce was real - just the idea behind it was different than most peoples’. Divorcing was the only way to keep Heidi’s career going because everyone hated me so much. Look at Sandra Bullock - her divorce from Jesse James was the best thing to happen to her image.”

2013 – The first Celebrity Big Brother…

Speidi enter CBB and become the most hated couple in the house striking up a huge beef with Rylan Clarke. They come second to his first.

2015 - Marriage Boot Camp…

The pair star on the reality show Marriage Boot Camp to try and fix problems in their marriage but the biggest story of the show revolves around Heidi talking about Lauren Conrad again. She said: “Lauren, I forgive you for being so insecure in your life and so frustrated for everything that you went through that you felt like you had to blame it on me. I forgive you for trying to ruin my life. “

2017 – The second Celebrity Big Brother…

The return to the house as All-Stars and weirdly make a lot more mates that the first time. They come ninth but last almost until the end.

2017 - They announce they are expecting a Baby…

After years of Heidi publicly admitting she wanted a child the couple tried for a month before they found out the happy news. He told Us Weekly: “The look on her face, I can’t even describe it. She was literally glowing. I thought she was about to say she made muffins or banana bread. Heidi said, ‘I’m pregnant.’ I was like, ‘Whoa, that’s way more exciting than banana bread!’"
