When One Direction dropped their surprise new track 'Drag Me Down' earlier today (July 31) we were really excited, because, well, One Direction.

But then we listened to the song on repeat for a few hours and started to realise the meaning behind some of the lyrics (or at least made our own assumptions) and basically started acting like a kid at Christmas.

So these are just a few ideas as to what it could all mean. Please don't hurt us if you don't agree:

The part where it's all about the fans:

Surely this one's all about the fans. A lot of the Directioners often say that the boys have helped them get through difficult times and taught them alot about life.

Therehad to be a Zayn mention in there somewhere:

Err Zayn Malik and Naughty Boy can't drag these boys down! Or any other rumour for that matter, including possible babies.

So basically it's all about the Directioners:

Okay so this has got to be about how the boys feel about the fandom, with them always by their side NO MATTER WHAT. It could also be about how they feel about each other…

They love their job more than anything:

They've got a whole lot of passion for what they do and aren't afraid to take risks and break records. It only looks easy because they LOVE their job.

They can handle anything that comes theirway:

The pressure of fame that comes with being in the biggest boy band in the world brings with it some serious spotlight, but the boys can handle it.
