You know how Simon Cowell basically crushed our hearts when he admitted he wasn’t sure whether One Direction’s elongated time off was a hiatus or a real break-up?

Well, GOOD NEWS PEOPLE OF THE WORLD, because now Simon, who obviously put the boys together originally back on The X Factor, has come back and said actually, he (like us) thinks they will be getting back together.

We need a lie-down.

Chatting to E! News, Simon explained: “They're all doing their own thing at the moment.

“Harry’s doing a movie. Liam is now dating Cheryl and he's writing songs for some of our artists. Louis, I saw a couple weeks ago. He did something with me recently on the show, which will come out. Niall, I got a text from last night. So everyone's in a good place.”

On the subject of the boys returning, Uncle Si seems more sure now that it will happen, saying: “Eventually, I think, yeah.”
