One Direction heartthrob Niall Horan has revealed he's looking for love and "waiting for the right person" to come along.

The Irish singer - who recently parted ways with model Barbara Palvin - made the confession during an interview with Teen Now, explaining that being in 1D makes it difficult to find a girlfriend.

Niall explained: "You have to find the one who likes you for being normal, not just for being in One Direction.

"I'm still waiting for her to come around. I am the same as anyone. I'm just waiting for the right person to stand in front of me."

The Midnight Memories hunk went on to add that he's not bothered by his single status, claiming: "Being single doesn't mean that you're weak. It means you're strong enough to wait for what you deserve."

And for all those Directioners out there hoping to bag a date with Horan, the 20-year old concluded: "If she's a fan of the band then that's a bonus,"
