Incase you were thinking of actually enjoying your day, a certain rumour regarding One Direction has decided to pop up and have a little party on Twitter. Oh good.

According to Us Weekly, the boys had made their hiatus a 'permanent split' and were 'not to renew their recording contract'.

"The 1D thing just ran its course. They’ll remain friends, but they are exhausted and want solo careers," the mysterious source claimed.

Yeah, you know, that little old thing called 1D which has barely made anyone any money.

But luckily the fandom are savvy enough to know when to believe such rumours, and quite simply weren't having any of it.

Anyway, a rep for the band has since confirmed to GossipCop that the allegations are simply “not true.”
