Fans Defend Taylor Swift After The Internet Goes Crazy Over Her ‘Couldn’t Have Asked For A Better Year’ Post

Way to overreact, internet!

Taylor Swift has just celebrated her 28th birthday, and because her life is pretty damn awesome she posted about how great the last year has been for her.

Captioning a pic of herself performing in London she wrote, “I love you guys so much. This was a photo @paul_sidoti took at @capitalofficial Jingle Bell Ball in London a few days ago.

“I couldn’t have asked for a better year, all thanks to you. Thanks for all the birthday wishes. Can’t wait to see what 28 will be like. See you on tour.”

A cute message, right? Wrong! The internet wasn’t happy that Taylor thought 2017 was such a great year when loads of fairly rotten things have happened.

“I mean, yeah there were Nazi's and white supremacy marches, and families are being tornapart, and there were mass shootings, and people are losing health care, but none of that affects me, so 2017 was great,” came one response to on Twitter.

Well done internet for totally failing to grasp that Taylor was referring only to her own life. *Slow claps*

Thankfully, Taylor’s fans weren’t about to let the internet rain on Tay’s birthday parade and they showed up to defend her.

At least some people on Twitter have some sense!
