Here's Why There Are So Many Rare Kanto Pokémon In Pokémon Go Right Now
Remember we told you about the new Mythical Pokémon Mew? Well, it turns out that its new appearance has also attracted a load of other Kanto region Pokémon, too.
That's right; for a few days now, we've seen an increase in the number of classic Kanto Pokémon popping up, so if you're chasing a gold Kanto medal and completing that Kanto Pokédex, now's the time to get out and hunting.
"As you encounter and catch more Pokémon originally discovered in the Kanto region, all actions will be rewarded with double Candy," says Pokémon Go developer, Niantic. "So, not only will you be able to catch Pokémon you might not frequently see, but you may also get the chance to register their evolved forms in your Pokédex as well."
"What’s more, certain Pokémon such as Aerodactyl and Snorlax will be featured in Raid Battles across the world. Keep an eye out for one you haven’t encountered yet!"
You haven't got that long left to catch 'em all - the event runs out on April 17, 2018 - but between now and the end, you'll also be able to score special boxes with Raid Passes that will give you the opportunity to "challenge many more powerful Pokémon originally discovered in the Kano region".
Don't forget that Professor Willow is teaming up with Trainers to help them grab new activities and challenges for bonus in-game rewards, including "unique storylines" that reveal the mystery behind the Mythical Pokémon, Mew. Don't miss it!
