Last week’s series premiere of Ex On The Beach series 9 turned out to be a bit of a Big Dipper affair for Bobby Ballard, as he went on a date with Rhianne Saxby before the sneaky Tablet of Terror sent his ex Bayley Jenkins in to greet him on the beach.

With the pair facing a frosty reception after getting cosy when Bayley returned to the villa from her date with Aaron Gill, Bobby and his ex are this week given a chance to grab some alone time and have a heart-to-heart about what happened with their relationship.

In this first look at the upcoming episode (airing Wednesday at 10pm on MTV UK), we see Bobby and Bayley embracing their inner tranquility in a spot of water sports.

After successfully cleansing their souls, the pair sit down for an honest chat about what happened between them in the past, with Bobby saying away from his ex: “Me and Bayley got together when we was really young, maybe too young (sic).

“We made some very wrong decisions, probably because of our age at the time.”

With Bayley telling her ex that she’s come to Mexico to “talk things over” and “smooth a lot of things out” with him, Bobby explains how her leaving him in the past really made him feel.

He admits: “I’ve always thought, and the reason why I’ve never been able to open up to you properly since I lost my aunt, she was like another mum to me.

“When she actually passed away, it weren’t long after that you just got up and left, then being with another fella, within two or three weeks (sic).”

Sharing her side of the story, Bayley takes “full responsibility” for her actions and their effect on Bobby, explaining: “I thought that the best thing in that time and moment I could’ve done though was walk away, not that I wanted to, and I still always checked on you to see if you were fine, but I felt like I didn’t know how to handle myself in that situation.

“It wasn’t fair and I’m sorry for that.”

After seemingly sorting out the past, Bobby goes on to tell Bayley that she’s “the only girl that (he’s) ever wanted to be with,” adding away from their chat that he’ll “always be in love with the girl.”

Bayley, meanwhile, admits that there is “such a strong connection” between them, continuing: “There’s always love there, but I don’t know if I’m in love with him, but maybe.”
