Everyone’s Freaking Out Over A ‘Sea Monster’ Found On Google Maps
So while we’ve explored the butt out of most of the earth’s land-mass (we have a feeling there are remote tribes in the Amazon who have got their hands on Kylie Jenner’s new lip kit), the watery depths are a majestic, mysterious thing.
And, if this video is to be believed, a chuffing chilling one.
Head to 63° 2’56.73″S 60°57’32.38″W on Google Earth, just off the coast of the enjoyably named ‘Deception Island’ in the South Shetlands (near Antarctica), and you’ll find a bizarre, huge… erm… thing(?!) that has everyone scratching their heads.
Some think it’s merely a rock formation – but others reckon it could be one of mankind’s scariest of mythical beasties – the Kraken (AKA that big thing that tried to munch on Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest), or Cthulhu, an enormous part octopus, part man, part dragon Lovecraft monster.
It’s big, it’s watery, and we have absolutely no idea what it is. HAPPY SWIMMING.
