Secret Cinema Moulin Rouge Is Musical Goals
The first rule of Secret Cinema Moulin Rouge Club makes gushing about Secret Cinema Moulin Rouge rather tricky.
What we can say is that fans of musicals, theatre, Baz Luhrmann, and - most importantly - truth, beauty, freedom and love, are in for a treat.
While we can’t talk specifics (the reason why’s kinda in the title), we can certainly waffle on about how it made us feel.
From the moment you stumble through the hidden entrance, you leave 2017 London very far behind, and dive head and heart-first into a recreation of 19th century Montmartre, Paris so full of fan-pleasing detail, you’ll be dancing, singing and grinning your way from start to finish.
In hindsight, Moulin Rouge is an obvious choice for Secret Cinema’s unique brand of theatricality - colourful, crazy and creative af, Baz Luhrmann’s romantic musical opus is brought vibrantly to live through a series of audacious set-pieces and some jaw-dropping production design.
Vitally, it is also positively overflowing with bubbly, absinthe and that deliciously bawdry, liberating joie de vivre the movie exudes so effortlessly.
Not only has the director himself visited (and raved about it on Twitter, obvs), but fans should keep their eyes peeped for all manner of celebrity musical guests - the production has so far seen Jarvis Cocker, Tom Findlay of Groove Armada and even Matt Bellamy of Muse rock up).
Secret Cinema Moulin Rouge is the epitome of show-stopping, and a must-experience for fans of the movie.
