The first teaser trailer has appeared online for 'Dunkirk', Christopher Nolan’s upcoming WW2 drama, and it does a bang-up job of wringing a hell of a lot of tension out of not very much action at all…

The new teaser focuses on the calm before the storm of the Dunkirk landings, as a boat-load of Allied forces approach the French coastline looking more than a bit nervous. A plane roars overhead, and everyone looks pretty terrified, as the reality of what’s about to happen dawns upon the young soldiers.

War, eh? What is it good for…?

No sign of Harry Styles then, nor any of the rest of the A-list cast that includes Tom Hardy, Mark Rylance and Cillian Murphy. Still, it looks like this one is going to be quite the spectacle – definitely a film to try and catch on an IMAX screen if you possibly can…

Directed by Nolan and co-starring Kenneth Branagh, James D’Arcy and Aneurin Barnard, 'Dunkirk' will open in the UK on 21 July 2017.
