Because regardless of looks, a woman that’s smart, motivated and ambitious is super-sexy and (let’s face it) we would.

So which sensational señorita are we celebrating (and crushing on majorly) today? Drumroll… it’s ISKRA LAWRENCE!

Iskra is not only an underwear and swimwear model but Aerie’s official Role Model for their #AerieREAL campaign.Sheis a CHAMPION for body positivity, speaks out against Photoshopping, is a big believer in no-make natural beauty, and models allaround the world while featuring in body positive campaigns. Iskranever edits her Instagram photos (her profile has racked up more than 2 million followers) because she wants to show everyone the beauty in our natural flaws, and she’s an ambassador for the National Eating Disorders Association. She also writes for publications like Time andHuffington Post and is a columnist at SELF magazine too, just cos.

How did she become such a major influencer? Iskra’s modelling career was kick-started after she reached the final of Elle Girl’s ‘Search for a Supermodel’ competition when she was 13, but throughout her teens she was constantly rejected due to her curvy body shape. It was difficult to take, and Iskra’s confidence was repeatedly knocked.

But instead of accepting rejection and concluding that modelling wasn’t the right “fit” for her,shepursued her dream career, making waves in the industry as she did so.

“I got to the point where I faced so much rejection and negativity that I just realised I can’t change – I’d tried everything to change, so I thought ‘let’s try and be the best version of me, instead.’ And as soon as I started doing that, I just got more and more confident,” she told Grazia Daily. “You’re meant to be you, you’re meant to be in this body. It’s your home, so if you can start loving and respecting it, then that to me is the beginning of confidence.”

Need we say more? Iskra is our woman crush this Wednesday - she’s beautiful inside and out, and we LOVE that she’s inspiring girls everywhere to accept and love their bodies just as they are. Hail Queen.
