Having delivered two awesome Avengers movies, Joss Whedon stepped away from Marvel Studios last year, revealing that bringing 'Age Of Ultron 'to the big screen had pretty much broken him.

However, Whedon has revealed that he could be convinced to return if Marvel committed to making something new… a female-led movie.

“Yeah, of course,” said Whedon, when asked if he’d be keen to do a female-driven Marvel movie. “Although I tend more towards the 'Jessica Jones'-ey kind of stories than the delightful' Supergirl' stories that my daughter wants.” We feel you, Joss… Jessica Jones FTW.

However, if you’d already put two and two together and assumed that Whedon might be the as-yet-unannounced director of the Captain Marvel movie, well… he’s not. But with rumours continuing to rumble on surrounding a potential Black Widow spin-off, maybe he’ll decide to take the reins on that one.

In the meantime, Whedon has something non-superhero-related keeping him busy. “It is a story about a girl who goes through some unbelievable shit,” says the director. “And that much is all I can say. It is an original screenplay that is very different from everything I've ever done except for that it's exactly the same.”

Never change, Joss. Never change.
