F**k It Friday: Ingrid Nilsen

Celebrating the awesome power of those two little words: "F**K IT"

Hi there! Congratulations on conquering another week and welcome back to F**k It Friday - a weekly feature from MTV Breaks that’s all about saying a big “f**k yeah” to the most excellent people who’ve said “f**k it” (probably) and taken a leap of faith to make big things happen.

Cos it’s not about just having ideas – it’s about believing in yourself, and making them happen. AMIRIGHT?

So who’s next up in the FIF roll call of honour, drumroll…it’s Miss Glamorazzi herself, Ingrid Nilsen!

Believe it or not, when Ingrid Nilsen started her YouTube channel she didn’t have fame, fortune, meeting the president, inspiring the LBGT community or any of the many other ways she slays at life on a daily basis to her 4 million plus subscribers in mind. She actually comes from more humble beginnings.

Ingrid Nilsen’s YouTube career was born out of two things; love of make-up and a crippling fear of public speaking. Ingrid describes the night (it was 3am) she made her first video as a “seize the moment” moment, or as we like to call them over here at MTV Breaks…a “f**k it” moment.

Ingrid had just discovered a new passion in the form of make-up and was sick of being shy and afraid to talk to people. She says she had just “made a goal for myself to do things [she] was afraid of doing,” so she said “f**k it” (probably) and decided to combine her interests with her fears and post a make-up tutorial to YouTube.

More of a personal victory than anything else, Ingrid never expected her videos to go anywhere but they made her feel good about herself so she carried on making them. Obviously people related to this and after a while her views started going up and she realised that she could make something of this. The rest is history…

Through strength in overcoming her fears, giving all of herself over to her passions and just basically saying “f**k it” (probably) and following her heart, Ingrid has cemented herself at the forefront of YouTube royalty. Way to slay, Ingrid.
