Student-teacher relationships are generally frowned upon in real life - which could be why Lea Michele has long denied reports that she and Glee co-star Matthew Morrison used to be an item.

However the 27-year-old actress and singer - who plays Rachel Berry in the hit show - has now admitted that she DID date her on-screen teacher years ago (and before the show began).

Writing in her new autobiography Brunette Ambition, she said: "When we shot the pilot, I met Cory Monteith, Kevin McHale, Amber Riley and Chris Colfer for the first time.

"I had worked on Broadway with Jenna Ushkowitz and Matthew Morrison before. Matt had been a friend of mine for years, and in fact we'd actually dated back in the day for a Broadway beat."

Both Michele and Morrison, 35, have previously dismissed rumours that they had been romantically involved.

Michele recently rubbished reports that she had been involved in a feud which led to Naya Rivera getting sacked from Glee.
