Lauren Jauregui is ready to take control.

The Fifth Harmony star has opened up about her solo material and the open creative process that influenced it ahead of her debut single’s release.

‘Expectations’ is the title of her debut single, and we’re sure it’s going to be a complete 180 of whatever we’re expecting if her latest comments are anything to go by.

While the pop star co-helmed many of 5H’s sultry pop-R&B bangers and has showcased her own versatility in a handful of solo collaborations, her solo music will embody her own unique style and sound that we’ve never heardbefore.

Lauren tweeted to dispute critics claiming that she is reinventing herself, saying that her debut will finally show the “real” her rather than being a “new” her.

Fans are only more excited now that Lauren has spoken of the musical themes, and the one week wait to hear ‘Expectations’ suddenly seems way too long.

No details of her solo album have been announced yet but we wouldn’t rule out a Q4 release date considering she’s launching the lead single now.
