Kim Kardashian Opens Up About Kendall Jenner's Emotional Reaction To Pepsi Ad Backlash

The KUWTK star admits that not everything makes the final cut of the show.

Kendall Jenner was at the centreof huge criticism when her Pepsi ad was unveiled back in April, and she’s made surenot to talk about it since.

But because that’s kind of impossible to do when you’re famous and have really quite chatty siblings,Kim Kardashian has opened up on her behalf about the difficult time.

"We're not perfect, but you see these things in the media, like Kendall and [Pepsi], where it hasn't been portrayed right," she told The Hollywood Reporter.

"I see her at home crying, but in the media she looks another way because she's not addressing it. The team and everyone's telling her not to, and I'm just like, 'This is wrong. You need to speak up.' She was like, 'I don't ever want to show that footage of me crying.' She was trying to not make excuses or be dramatic, but that was what she was going through at the time."

The ad Kim’s addressing was slated because it made light of serious issues and protest movements such as Black Lives Matter, as Kendall seemingly tried to make everything better by handing a police officer a can of Pepsi.

The whole thing was eventually pulled, with the company later apologising for putting Kendall in the forefront.

"Pepsi was trying to project a global message of unity, peace and understanding," the company said. "Clearly, we missed the mark, and we apologize. We did not intend to make light of any serious issue. We are removing the content and halting any further rollout."

Kendall has still not spoken about the incident herself, and we have a feeling that won’t be changing.
