Kanye West 'Sued Over Bound 2 Sample'
Kanye West is reportedly being sued over a sample from his recent hit Bound 2.
The New York Daily News reports that former child star Ricky Spicer has issued a legal suit against Yeezy along with Roc-A-Fella Records, Island Def-Jam Music, Rhino Entertainment and Universal Music Group.
The former child star claims that [uuid=a3916334-65fd-47d4-8c06-db62c865cb36]Kanye's track[/uuid] repeatedly uses a vocal sample of himself from a record that he cut at the age of 12 in the 1960s.
He also claims that permission was not sought or granted for the usage.
Filed in the Manhattan Supreme Court, the suit read: "Mr. Spicer's voice is sampled exactly as he recorded it and his voice … is heard several times."
Spicer was a member of The Ponderosa Twins Plus One (he was the one), and his lawyer Vincent Imbesi said: "He was their Michael Jackson."
He is asking for compensation or for the sample to no longer be used.
