Justin Timberlake Confirms Super Bowl Halftime Performance
How do the NFL top Lady Gaga diving from a stadium roof straight into 'Poker Face'? Well, they bring 'SexyBack'.
With less than four months to go,Justin Timberlake has silenced the rumours andconfirmed that he is indeedheadlining the Pepsi Halftime show at next year'sSuper Bowl.
After previously gracing the legendary stage twice as a guest performer, this will be JT's first time in charge.
JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE AT THE SUPER BOWL?! THIS. IS. HUGE.
The pop icon announced the news in a skitwith Jimmy Fallon on Twitter, where the pair joke "do you have the time?" and dwindle it down to "you do halftime?"'YES!'
From 'Cry Me A River' to 'My Love' and 'Mirrors', the singer has more iconic hits than many others and just 15 minutes to fit them into. What will he perform? Will he bring out any guests?
He, of course, started out as one fifth of *NSYNC and could therefore do a Beyoncé with Destiny's Child back in 2013, and he has also collaborated extensively with Jay-Z over the years, including a joint stadium tour a few years ago.
The biggest guest in question is the one and only Janet Jackson, who headlined the 2004 Halftime show that birthed the infamous wardrobe malfunction when Justin ripped off part of her costume.
While Timberlake's career went from strength to strength, America shunned Jackson as she was banned by radio stations, TV networks and the NFL from returning to the Super Bowl. So, with Justin being asked to return as a headliner 14 years later,'many'people want to see Janet back on that stage.
After all, it's not a good look - or morally right - on either Justin or the NFL's part to work together again if Janet is still being shunned out. We hope that Justin has thought of this before putting pen to paper and has some big plans in store!
