When Justin Bieber quit Instagram, it wasn’t only fans who were heartbroken.

With over 70m followers, the Biebs was one of the platform’s biggest advocates, so when he left the site, a lot of #engagement went with it.

So we are loving the story that Instagram bosses allegedly attempted to stage an intervention at this weekend’s V Festival using pancakes.

UK paper Metro’s Guilty Pleasures quotes a V Insider who says that the Insta-team were keen to do whatever was needed to woo Justin back to the light/filtered side.

“As soon as [Justin] landed, they tried to extend an olive branch and prepared a spread of maple syrup pancakes from his Canadian homeland to woo him.”

Alas, it was a seduction technique that fell as flat as, well, a pancake. Justin’s account is still deactivated. Boo.
