You may want to sit down for this.
JK Rowling has officially confirmed that the forthcoming Harry Potter stage show, 'Harry Potter & The Cursed Child' will be a sequel to the iconic book series and movie franchise.
That's right - this is no prequel or side-story, but a BRAND SPANKING NEW HARRY POTTER STORY set after The Deathly Hallows. The official synopsis was posted on Pottermore, and reads as follows:
“It was always difficult being Harry Potter and it isn’t much easier now that he is an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband and father of three school-age children.
While Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son Albus must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted. As past and present fuse ominously, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: sometimes, darkness comes from unexpected places.”
'Scuse us - just gonna be over here squealing.
Not only that, but it came with a brand spanking new poster - which we're heavily guessing features one of Harry's own children.
The play by Jack Thorne will premiere at London’s West End Palace Theatre next summer.
